About Corrective Peels & Demaplaning
Nivali offers a variety of corrective peels for every skin type and condition. At Nivali we offer light to medium-depth peels known for their excellent results and safety profile. Repeated treatments are recommended for progressive and gradual results, and to avoid the side effects and downtime associated with deeper peels. A single treatment can provide the immediate effect of bright and radiant skin; however, more significant results in treating textural issues, fine lines, and inflamed acne could take several sessions.
Beautiful skin doesn't happen overnight, and treatments take time to show results. Just as you take time for exercise, taking time for "your daily skin care regimen" is part of maintaining healthy skin. Remember, 50% of your result is due to professional treatment. The other 50% is dependent on your daily home-care treatment regimen.

Pre- and Post-Care

Inform technician of any changes in your health and medications.

Discontinue use of Topical Vitamin A Creams (Retinoic Acid) and Hydroquinone products, topical acne meds, glycolic or alpha hydroxy acids 10% or higher and no depilatory creams or waxing 5 days prior to treatment.
Avoid harsh Vitamin A oral acne prescriptions (brand names not allowed here) for six months prior to treatment.
Avoid sun exposure before treatment. Sunburned skin cannot be treated.
Avoid IPL, Laser, microdermabrasion 14 days prior to treatment.
Avoid Facial Neuromodulator Injections and Fillers 14 days prior to and 7 days post-treatment.
If you have a history of perioral herpes, advise office so you may begin prophylactic antiviral therapy the day before treatment.
Schedule this treatment at a time when minor swelling or peeling will not disrupt your social obligations.
Do not bleach, wax, thread, tweeze or use depilatory creams in the treatment area 5 days prior to treatment.

Redness might be present (and last up to several hours) after peels.
Use acetaminophen only as needed for any soreness.
Swelling is rare but may occur after treatment for 3-5 days.
Peeling generally starts 3-5 days after the peel. Do not pick or scratch treated skin but instead keep moisturized. Peeling doesn’t always happen and is normal.
Avoid washing face for 8 hours after treatment
Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 72 hours post-treatment and up to 5-7 days after our Power Peel.
Avoid intentional sun exposure for 14 days post-peel and use a minimum of SPF 30 daily - every 2 hours if outdoors. Mineral powder is the most convenient way to re-apply.
