Acne in adolescents and adults can have debilitating effects on your self-esteem. At Nivali, we attack acne from all angles with the goal of achieving great results.
How does laser help with acne?
Laser and other light therapies fight acne in two ways:
The first way laser fights acne is by working with the biology of acne-causing bacteria. Inside the bacteria, there are compounds called "porphyrins”. The laser works by stimulating the compounds called porphyrins, causing them to break the bacteria cell walls, killing the bacteria.
The second way laser works is by temporarily reducing or stopping the production of sebum (skin oil). Since the appearance of acne requires sebum, less or no skin oil will prevent acne from appearing in the first place.
Although laser doesn’t cure acne, it can help your fight against the condition by slowing down or killing the bacteria that causes it. Laser therapy combined with topical treatment and simple lifestyle changes can improve your skin’s appearance—and your self-esteem.
