Lumecca - IPL for Redness & Sunspots
As the years go by, sun damage and hyperpigmentation can catch up with your skin. The appearance of sunspots and hyperpigmentation can make a person look older than they are. Lumecca is a breakthrough Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) designed to treat vascular and pigmented lesions caused by sun damage. This will minimize the appearance of skin irregularities and knock a few years off your appearance. It is optimized for a variety of skin types and conditions and requires just one or two sessions to promote skin renewal and clarity.
Post treatment, skin will darken or redden, then flake and fade, resulting in a more even toned complexion. We can treat your face, chest, hands, or anywhere else on your body that sun damage has appeared. Along with this treatment, we will recommend appropriate products, including lightening and retinol creams and zinc/titanium-based sunscreen to help protect your skin from further sun damage.

What IPL Treatment Looks Like With Lumecca
When Will I See Results?
Sun damage and skin complexion results can be seen a few days after the first session. The skin will continue to look younger and more brilliant over time with most visible results after 1-2 weeks. Having multiple photofacial sessions will improve the final result. For vascular treatments such as spider or leg veins, results can be seen immediately in up to 2 weeks.
What Can I Expect During the Procedure?
Lumecca is a comfortable treatment - you won’t experience any pain. There will be repeated flashes of light that will feel like a mild elastic sensation. Post-treatment, you’ll see some redness and feel some warming of the skin. This is completely normal and usually subsides within an hour or two.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
For most clients, we recommend 3-5 sessions. However, you may need fewer depending on the condition of your skin and the areas of concern to be treated. Please book an initial Consultation prior to booking this treatment.
Photo-Rejuvenation & Photo Firm
Photo-Rejuvenation
Sunspots and hyperpigmentation are pigmented lesions caused by sun damage — and they can add years to your skin’s appearance. We use Cutera’s true laser for our photo-rejuvenation treatments. This innovative, technologically advanced laser minimizes the appearance of skin irregularities and knocks a few years off your appearance.
Post treatment, the brown spots will darken, then flake and fade, resulting in a more evenly toned complexion. We can treat your face, chest, hands, or anywhere else on your body that sun damage has appeared. Along with this treatment, we will recommend appropriate products, including lightening and retinol creams and zinc/titanium-based sunscreen to help protect your skin from further sun damage.

Photo Firm
Photo Firm is our most popular treatment for skin redness and hyperpigmentation. First, we use a combination of a hybrid laser to reduce brown spots, then use the laser application for Laser Genesis for reducing diffused redness. It stimulates collagen, tightens pores and softens wrinkles, which can help to give your skin a healthy glow! We recommend a series of 4-6 treatments.

Rosacea Laser Therapy
Our Rosacea Therapy is a dual treatment platform using a combination of IPL and Laser Genesis. This combined with specialized home-care provides superior treatment by reducing diffused redness and broken capillaries, and by building back collagen. The long-term effects of redness and inflammation in the skin causes a breakdown of collagen, which causes the skin to become thinner and more susceptible to continued redness. Topicals alone won’t build back the kind of collagen needed to prevent further damage.

Pre- and Post-Care
-
Use sunscreen and physical sun protection.
Avoid extended sun exposure a minimum of 4 weeks.
Tanned skin is not a contra-indication for Laser Genesis.
No waxing, over-the-counter or prescription vitamin A creams or hydroquinone (skin lighteners), topical or acne meds, glycolic or AHA’s 10% or stronger for 5 days prior to your treatment.
Avoid Facial Neuromodulator Injections and Fillers 14 days before any laser facial and 7 days post-treatment.
Avoid oral Vitamin A prescription medications for 6 months prior to treatment.
Inform your technician of any medical conditions or medications you are taking that might sensitize you to light, affect wound healing or affect coagulation.
Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (over the counter or prescription) prior to your treatment.
Avoid antibiotics for 48 hours prior to all of our laser treatments.
Male clients - shave in order to treat your lower face.
-
Cleanse the skin gently am and pm with tepid water and a gentle cleanser. DO NOT rub, scrub, use an exfoliant soap or skin care brush.
Sunscreen (preferably non-chemical) with both UVA and UVB, at least SPF 30 protection is a MUST and should be used daily beginning the day of treatment and reapplied every 2 hours. Mineral powder is the most convenient way to re-apply.
DO NOT expose your skin to direct sun for 14 days post-treatment. The treated area is more prone to sunburn and pigmentation change.
Moisturizer should be applied generously over the treated area and reapplied whenever your skin feels dry.
Wear a wide-brimmed hat or sun-protective clothing post-treatment to avoid blistering, scarring, hyperpigmentation, and hypopigmentation.
Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for 48 hours or until after skin has healed.
If the treated area is especially warm within the first 12 hours after the treatment, a cold compress or gel pack can be used to provide comfort.
While the skin is healing, avoid anything that will irritate the skin, such as exfoliants, shaving, hot water, and swimming pools with multiple chemicals/chlorine.
In the unusual case of broken skin or blistering, contact the office immediately. Keep the affected area moist and avoid direct sunlight.
-
You may experience some redness in the treatment area that should resolve within a few hours. A gel pack can provide comfort.
You may notice darkening of your pigmented spots, followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage.
Follow your technician's aftercare plan until skin is completely healed – typically one week after the treatment. The skin on your body might take longer to heal, compared to your face.
