BodyFX Vs. Coolsculpting
/HOW DOES BODYFX COMPARE TO COOLSCULPTING?
First of all: what is BodyFX, and what are the benefits?
BodyFX is also commonly referred to as “Heat Sculpting”; this process uses a precise heating + radio frequency method that effectively melts fat by targeting adipose tissue. The heating method also prompts the skin to contract, tightening skin to leave no sagging in place of the fat loss. This method also works to correct the dimpling and uneven-ness caused by cellulite. Clinical studies show a steady 30% reduction in fat, along with 10-15% increase in collagen production. This fat loss is permanent, and results are visible just 4 weeks after your first treatment. These results will compound dramatically with repeated treatments (we recommend 6-8, depending on the area to be treated).
This is an incredible way to “finish off” the hard work process of staying fit and healthy - sometimes, fat remains in specific locations just because of our genetics. This can happen more often than not - each person has their “problem area” where fat may stubbornly remain even with commitment to a great diet and regular exercise. This is where BodyFX comes in!
Benefits of BodyFX:
Non-invasive (non-surgical!)
Destroys fat cells permanently & smoothes cellulite
Tightens the skin after destroying the fat
Comfortable procedure
No downtime or recovery
Targeted “spot treatment” is possible
Results visible within 4 weeks
Now for Coolsculpting: what is it, and how does it work?
Coolsculpting is a fat-loss procedure (also commonly called fat freezing). This too is a non-surgical fat loss method, like BodyFX, but it works in a very different way. Coolsculpting uses cooling to reduce that amount of fat cells stored in certain areas of the body, such as under the chin or on the abdomen. Coolsculpting operates slower than BodyFX; typically, it will take between 4-6 months to see the full effects of the fat loss on the body. Fat levels are decreased by about 20% on average. It is generally accepted that there are more risks when undergoing Coolsculpting procedures than with BodyFX.
What are the risks/downsides of coolsculpting?
Must be in good general health to consider this method of treatment
Skin may not heal completely smooth; skin could heal in an irregular/dimpled manner
Several sessions are needed to see results
Clients typically report discomfort from the pressure and extreme cold with Coolsculpting procedures
A rare side effect that may occur is paralytic fat hyperplasia.
